This photo should have been on a recruiting poster. They would have had more men than coast to guard. Lovely.

A depth of loveliness. I sense a noble and gentle heart.

And such lustrous eyes!

What Aubrey said!

And I love it that your mom was a Coastie!

Stunning! I think you have her eyes! Beautiful!
thank you -- that's so nice!
Aww, thanks -- and your friend must be very pretty!
Thanks you!! When I was a very little kid, I thought she was a "cop" -- and told all the other little kids that she'd put them in jail if they were bad.
Kids!!
Thanks Aubrey -- she was lovely in so many ways; I don't think she ever realized it though.
awwww -- that's sweet! She would have been delighted to hear that!
My dad was in the Merchant Marine (during WWII and as a career), so his pics from the War era look quite similar.
No kidding? That's neat. My father was in the Navy and his pictures run along the same lines....just imagine all the pictures that were taken, of all those people -- I guess all the negatives are long gone..
Oh, that's so nice!!! thank you -- Mom would have sent you a (((hug))) for that!!!
Thank you!!Yes, it's a gorgeous picture -- and she was a lovely lady.
Thank you!! that's so sweet of you. She did have lovely eyes, an unusual color. and she was very very bright.
Your mother looks a very classy lady. Lovely eyes and divinely shaped lips.
Awww, thanks-- that would have made her so happy to hear..

man. totally gorgeous. she could have outdone any film star.
I love a mom in uniform. I post my mom's old photos all the time and the ones of her in uniforms are actually modelling things she did for the Gov back then. If you see my dad in a uniform he really wore one like your mom. My mom would have been tossed ut of basic training for whining too much. They lead such interesting lives back then and so different than ours. I always loved to sit for hours and listen to stories from my mom.
Yes it was a different time, in so many ways. It's too bad that so much of it is going away, now.

Oh, that's so sweet!! thank you!
