How could supporting small businesses help jump-start the economy?
Sponsored by HP.Beats me. How can I support small businesses if I have no discretionary income? Ask one of the gazillion new millionaires in the world -- they've got all the money now.
How are you celebrating the 4th of July?
Here's today: doing dishes, writing letters, taking a walk, sending emails, VOXing (I hope), doing laundry, cleaning the filter in the vacuum cleaner. NOT answering the phone if it rings.
Normally I'd put out a couple of small flags, because we always do/did. But it's raining and that's a no-no. I've been told.
It's just another day, and for that I'm profoundly grateful.

If you could do anything you want tomorrow, what would it be?
Submitted by Becca-Pink.Same as today. It's not what you do, as much as how you do it. Mostly.
I'm pretty happy with the doing, so the it doesn't matter very much. Mostly.
Out of anyone in your address book, with whom would you most like to have lunch today?
No one. I don't like eating with other people.
Plus, a lot of the people in my address book(s) are dead. Where could we go to eat? The local ZombieBurger is always too crowded.
What have you been putting off all weekend?
GREAT question!!
What is a childhood memory that still haunts you?
I was seven years old and had nightmares for WEEKS. *shivers*
What are five things that make you unique?
Submitted by RA<3TA.I like the idea of this question very much -- but to be realistic, rational, whatever, I'd have to know all the "things" that everyone else in the world is/has and then every possible combination of those things (since it's the combining of the them that can get so fascinating), but there's no way to know that. Also, much of what we show other people has little bearing on what we really have/are...no one in the world but me knows how I behave when I'm alone...unless I'm being watched? *runs around the room looking around for electronic surveillance equipment*
So to be unrealistic and irrational, I'll just grab five of "things" about me that I've never observed in my particular combination, in any of the people I've known or read about, or seen on TV or movies, or in plays.
Here they are: (1) I fall into rhyming sometimes without meaning to, and make myself laugh. But it's hard to stop and other people get irritated. (2) I love Brussels sprouts (no butter, no flavors, just cooked Brussels sprouts). (3) I don't "see" faces efficiently (they don't "register") and forget them easily, which means that I sometimes think one person is someone else, or I don't recognize them at all, without other sensory clues. (4) I'm very very good at finding my way around, in unknown places. (5) I lovelovelove to observe, hypothesize, experiment and draw conclusions. And then notice something else and start all over again.
What's your favorite type of donut?

How have you changed in the past year?
Submitted by littleduckling. One piece of clothing at a time, same as always. I tried doing two at once, but my arms got tangled up.
